GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready Conferences & Expositions take place in one place, at one time creating an extraordinary two-day learning and networking experience and fosters communication and camaraderie across all jurisdictions.
31 years ago, Robert Harar, Chairman of National Trade Productions launched FOSE, which became the largest federal systems show in the US and a Tradeshow 200 event. In 2001, NTP utilized its experience of launching and producing trade shows for the federal government to launch GovSec, the Government Security Conference and Expo, which first staged in July 2002. Post 9/11, the federal marketplace changed. The Department of Homeland Security was created and it became increasingly apparent that the federal government needed to increase interaction and communication across all levels of government, law enforcement and emergency first responders to coordinate efforts to thwart terrorists’ threats, prepare for future attacks and respond to natural disasters. Because of this, NTP launched the U.S. Law Enforcement Conference and Expo in 2003. U.S. Law occurred at the same time and in the same place as the second GovSec to encourage collaboration between federal government and law enforcement, as well as collaboration across disciplines and within neighboring jurisdictions. The growth continued in 2004, with the launch of third co-located event, Ready, the Emergency Preparedness and Response Conference and Expo. Today, GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready have grown to become the only event to unite the homeland security community during a 2-day conference and expo in the capital of the United States.
In October of 2007, GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready was acquired by 1105 Media, Inc. to become a part of 1105 Government Information Group, the home of FOSE.
GovSec
The Government Security Conference and Exposition is the preeminent event for government security professionals involved with physical asset protection, cyber and information protection, as well as the integration of these critical functions.
U.S. Law
The U.S. Law Enforcement Conference and Exposition, is an unparalleled forum that drives interaction within the law enforcement communities and across all departments and jurisdictions nationwide. Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies face many new roles and responsibilities: terrorism related intelligence gathering, analysis and dissemination; increasing security/protection for critical infrastructure, special events and dignitaries; and performing vulnerability assessments.
Ready
The Emergency Preparedness and Response Conference and Exposition is dedicated to providing solutions to state and local officials responsible for emergency preparedness and first responders to help coordinate incident planning and management efforts.
GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready offer superior value to its attendees and exhibitors because it is the only event that brings together federal government security professionals (from agencies such as Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, Department of State and many more); federal, state and local law enforcement officials; as well as emergency first responders (e.g. firefighters, EMTs). The event encourages camaraderie and cooperation between all levels of government and has aided in the creation and nurturing of America’s Homeland Security community.
